An electronic device which transmits specific data (measurements) to a remote site. It electronically records performance of engine and actuation of controls by the driver. The data is then used as a foundation for determining car setup.

Bruton Smith might be the biggest beneficiary of NASCAR's new ban on testing. Smith has been trying to unload his North Wilkesboro Speedway for several years - having already mined it for its Cup dates. All of a sudden that historic track has new value as a possible test facility.
